Bill Murray
Bill Murray has been a counselor with SVYC since 2008. He is a member of the Belle Church of Christ where he has served as a Sunday school teacher, Youth Director, and Deacon.
He has been actively involved with youth as a former Cub Scout leader and soccer coach for over 16 yrs. He enjoys giving devotionals, working with youth groups, and attending youth conferences.
He spends his spare time in his art studio painting landscapes and abstracts.
Bill, his wife Sherri of 26 yrs, and their two children Brett and Brooke reside in Belle, WV
Chris Roberts
Chris Roberts is married to Katie Roberts & lives in Huntington, WV with their two boys, Logan & Grayson. Chris has worked as the campus minister with the 26th Street church of Christ since 2009.
Since 2014, Chris has had the privilege of Directing Senior Week of Surprise Valley Youth Camp as well as serving on the Board of Directors as Vice President.
Chris loves nature, adventure & serving God with all he has.
Shane Roberts
Shane Roberts lives in Eleanor, WV with his wife Lindsey and their three children, Parker, Eleighna, and Thomas. Shane serves as a deacon at the 26th Street church of Christ in Huntington, WV. Shane attended SVYC as a child and then as a junior counselor. In recent years, Shane has attended SVYC as a teacher and currently serves on the SVYC board of directors.
Daniel Curry "DJ"
DJ Curry and his wife, Sarah Curry, live in Barboursville, WV, with their three sons Cole, Connor, and Isaac. DJ is the Full-Time Pulpit Minister for the Main Street church of Christ in Hurricane, WV.
DJ has volunteered as a teacher and Senior Counselor at Surprise Valley Youth Camp and now continues to serve the camp as a Board Member and a Camp Director.
Before ministry, DJ served West Virginia as a West Virginia State Trooper but now focuses on fulfilling his ministry and furthering his education with Heritage Christian University located in Florence, AL.
Scott M. Judge
Scott M. Judge lives in Bainbridge Ohio with his wife Ellie. They have two children, Jonas and Joel, ages 23 and 21 respectively. Both Jonas and Joel are attending Washington State Community College in Marietta Ohio studying Computer Science. Scott is the located Minister at the Elm Grove Church of Christ. He is involved with 2 different Christian Youth Camps in West Virginia. His wife, Ellie, is an Internet Sales Manager at Hernstein Motors in Chillicothe Ohio. Scott is a 1993 graduate of West Liberty State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. He has worked in the field of mental health in both partial hospital and hospital settings. He is also a 2016 graduate of THE West Virginia School of Preaching. Scott did circuit preaching from 1996 until 2018. In 2018, he became the fulltime minister at Elm Grove.
Matthew Derreberry
Matthew Derreberry serves as the full-time Preaching Minister for the Belle Church of Christ in Belle, West Virginia. Matthew is a graduate of the Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies in Knoxville, Tennessee, and currently studies at Heritage Christian University, located in Florence, Alabama.
Matthew has a loving wife, Madison, and a daughter named Evelyn. Matthew and his wife have both been involved with Surprise Valley Youth Camp for several years as senior staff. Matthew's goal as a camp director is to teach our youth to love and serve the Almighty God.
Colton Ferrell
Colton Ferrell is the full-time Pulpit Minister for the Sissonville church of Christ. Colton over the years has maintained an active involvement with the people of his community and with Surprise Valley Youth Camp. Colton has volunteered with the camp as a teacher and counselor before his time as a Camp Director.
Colton Ferrell is also a 2021 graduate from the Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies located in Knoxville, TN.
